One PDF · form fields are flattened locally
What flattening does here
- Fillable form fields are converted into fixed page content — answers become part of the page and fields stop being editable.
- This tool does not rasterize annotations in this pass and does not remove embedded JavaScript.
- Flattening is not “permanent non-editability” — capable tools can still modify PDFs.
How it works
- 1Open a filled PDF form.
- 2Review what will be flattened (field count and signature warnings).
- 3Flatten and download - answers become part of the page.
Your privacy
This tool runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and Web Workers. Your document is never uploaded to any server — you can even disconnect from the internet and keep working once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
▸Is flattening permanent?
Fields stop being editable in normal viewers, but no PDF is truly immutable - capable tools can still modify files.
▸What about digital signatures?
If signature fields exist we warn first: modifying signed files invalidates their cryptographic signatures.
