Auto-Redact PII

Local PII detection finds email addresses, phone numbers, credit-card numbers (Luhn-validated), Indian PAN numbers, Aadhaar-style IDs (Verhoeff-validated), IP addresses and custom regexes. Every finding is a suggestion: review, deselect, then redact permanently with verification.

Processed locally in your browser. Detection runs entirely on this device. Candidates are suggestions — nothing is redacted until you review and confirm. Card numbers must pass the Luhn checksum; Aadhaar-style IDs must pass Verhoeff.

Frequently asked questions

Does detection send my text anywhere?

No. All scanning happens in this browser tab using local pattern matching and checksum validators.

Can it miss things?

Yes - detection covers common patterns only. Review carefully; run OCR PDF on scanned pages first because image-only pages have no text layer to inspect.
